The Saints Row 2: The Full Package expansion pack was released on May 20, 2007. The expansion pack includes several new locations and features in addition to five new missions. These missions provide story-driven missions with activities to perform in order to proceed and unlock bonus content. The expansion pack features an additional mini-map located in-game and a new radio station called ''Triton Radio.'' This radio is similar to the radio in Saints Row, but has many songs that are more rock or rap.
Since the release of Saints Row 2, the game's official development team, Volition, has expanded to include several new staff members, including new characters, writers, and artists. There are several new characters: new female protagonist, Kinzie Kensington, an attorney; Nate Mizell, her psychotic, impersonating, former boyfriend; and the heavily mutated Cassandra Morgan, a sexy Cylon robot. There are also two new officers, former policeman and special ops soldier, Doug McCarthy and veteran officer and SWAT captain, Wesley Lang. There is a new ally, Tripp Voss, a mercenary and former special forces operator for the military.[7] There are a few new weapons, including firearms such as a Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun,.50 calibre semi-automatic assault rifle and a futuristic crossbow, and some new accessories, such as a new item, the ''Cowcatcher'' and a new upgrade for the ''Gunzerker'' weapon, the ''Hunting Rifle''.
