I did have a few bugs here and there, but the game is a fix. I'll put the worst of them here. Have to right click on enemies to see them. I have to do the same with the pistol, it doesn't do it if I just point at them. I can't do the grenade toss at the beggining of level 3 due to a bug where the health bar is out of sync with the demo (so it looks like the health bar is empty even if you still have health). While exploring the Delta Complex, you can sometimes get stuck. You can walk around in circles forever if you happen to get stuck. I always have to reload the game in order to get out of this, but I just noticed it can happen to you too. This also happens when you are near the end of the level, and you need to be close to the exit in order to complete the level. The exit is where you press the hotkey for a teleporter, but if you are very far away from it, you can be stuck there. It's a really frustrating bug that I haven't been able to fix yet. You can also get stuck in a monster closet, the one with the purple doors that you have to open up to go through the level.
I really hope the future of this series is Doom 4 or whatever and doesn't become some weird spin-off where everything is already figured out. I have no problem going back and playing this game just to play through the story as it should be. It's the kind of game that can be a single-player game or a multiplayer game.
Bottom Line: If you love the original doom games, yes it is worth picking up. If you love the new DOOM, no. Maybe wait for the Steam version to drop for less than $20. Or buy it off of the PS3 version because it's cheaper.
It's a shame that this is the final game for the Xbox/PS3 in the series. You may say that I'm a bit biased, but I feel like the series is going in a very bad direction. With Hell on Earth instead of Earthrise, the sequel was a complete failure. I feel like it was during this time that the series went downhill. I mean, I really liked the way the game was going. After the sequels were released, Half-life 3 and The Orange Box, the series was back in a good direction. Half-life 2 was the best game of all time.
Overall, I'm excited to play the game. It's a great game. It's like Doom 3, with a little bit of a graphics update. I'm looking forward to how the multiplayer will turn out, if they will release it, and whether or not they will add anything to the singleplayer.
